Experience 08 — Blob

One surface,
no mesh.

There are no triangles here. This ferrofluid drop is a shape defined purely by a distance function — five orbiting spheres melted together and traced, pixel by pixel, straight on the GPU.

Distance,
not geometry.

Every point on screen fires a ray and asks one question: how far to the nearest surface? March along the answer until it hits zero, and the blob appears from nothing but math.

Chrome that
never was poured.

The oil-slick sheen is a fresnel rim and a cosine palette — light that only exists in the shader. Move your mouse and the whole cluster turns with you.
